About the event
Kiln fused glass is a glassmaking technique where glass pieces are arranged on a kiln shelf or mold and then heated in a kiln until they fuse together. This process typically involves gradually heating the glass to a specific temperature range, allowing the pieces to soften and meld together. After reaching the desired fusion, the glass is slowly cooled down in a process called annealing to relieve internal stresses and strengthen the piece. Kiln fused glass allows for a wide range of artistic possibilities, including creating decorative objects, jewelry, and architectural elements.
